The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament showeth his handiwork (Psalm 19).

Few places rival the mountains as venues for the worship of God. Stars, trees, rocks, streams, and sunshine all speak his praises. He hath set my feet upon a rock … and hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God; many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord (Psalm 40:2-3).

Few situations encourage meaningful and lasting friendship like Mountain Camp does. When you walk through nature, smell like nature, and live together in nature, boundaries come down.

… And there is the food.

A typical day will include rising early to hike an average of 5 to 6 miles with the longest hikes pushing 9 miles (round trip). Due to the altitude and elevation gain, hiking in the mountains is much more difficult than it is in the Midwest, so this camp will require physical as well as spiritual preparation. Rest assured every effort you put forth will be rewarded above and beyond your expectations.

Thought-provoking classes will be held during breaks on our hikes and at our campsite. We also enjoy daily worship and evening chats with our camp families (one of the favorites among campers). Another highlight is the Rocky Mountain Talent Show. We will be sleeping in tents, sharing around campfires, and enjoying some of the most amazing and creatively described food prepared in Dutch ovens. These shared experiences have nurtured a lifelong bond with our Lord as well as other Mountain Camp alumni.

This year, we are headed to Redstone, Colorado, near Snowmass Wilderness, Carbondale, and Aspen. The campground is one of the most beautiful we stay at but does get cold in the mornings. Be sure to pack warm socks, gloves, hats, extra layers, and sleeping bag liners. An inflatable sleeping pad also helps preserve your warmth at night.

You are eligible to register for this camp if, by the summer of 2024, you will have completed the 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grade. Two 15-passenger vans will be driven to and from our destinations, so space is limited to 21 campers in addition to our staff. Registration begins at 12:00 am February 15 and will be open for 48 hours. Selection occurs by lottery system. If your name is chosen, you will be notified and given instructions to complete your registration within 48 hours from notification. Parents and/or guardians are required to read the Parental Consent and Agreement (accessed on this website) prior to registering. When registering, please make sure that a parent email is provided.
